Statue Cruises Strives for Fuel Savings

Miss FreedomStatue Cruises is the National Parks’ provider for ferry service to Ellis Island & the Statue of Liberty. They have a total of 12 vessels in their fleet which carry around 4.2 million passengers across New York Harbor annually.

After learning about gplink from Ron Lisoski at Foley Cat, Statue Cruises decided to install the product on Miss Freedom, one of the ferry boats in their fleet.

Statue Cruises was looking for ways to better control servicing times for different ferry docks. By using gplink, they anticipate saving thousands of dollars on fuel annually fleet-wide by controlling the use of engines and monitoring operating habits. They have numerous fleets in North America which will likely also be monitored by gplink in the future.
